This week, we’re excited to spotlight Krystal J., founder of Empowered by Herrolo, a community built around one powerful belief: entrepreneurs shouldn’t have to do it alone.

Krystal’s entrepreneurial journey began after becoming a mother of two and realizing she was ready to stop checking the boxes society had laid out for her and start creating something of her own. With a background in jewelry sales and a passion for creativity, she came up with an idea for a jewelry storage device during one of her late-night brainstorming sessions while feeding her daughter.

Her first prototype? An empty diaper box, a rubber band, a stapler, a piece of fabric, and a button from her daughter’s old onesie. From that humble beginning, she dove headfirst into manufacturing and entrepreneurship.

As she built her product brand, Book of Bijou, Krystal recognized something even bigger: her desire for meaningful community. That vision became Herrolo, which started with a small vendor market in 2022 and has since grown into a paid membership community of more than 140 women across the U.S., offering virtual workshops, mastermind calls, mentorship, and in-person events.

Today, Krystal helps women not only connect and collaborate, but also step into greater visibility, strengthen their systems, and operate more intentionally as CEOs.

Her vision continues to grow, with goals of expanding Herrolo’s in-person presence across multiple states and ultimately creating a community of thousands of women.

Krystal’s philosophy is simple but powerful: “Community is a non-negotiable as an entrepreneur.”
